Group Chief Finance Officer

The Role

  • Ensure completion of annual audits of the Cluster.

 

• Direct the financial affairs of the Cluster and ensure timely submission of all management accounts and information reports as per the report calendar.

 

• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, institute and maintain other planning and control procedures (including the cost accounting system), and analyze and report variances.

 

• Ensure compliance with all statutory and tax requirements: CIT, Stamp Duty, VAT, NBT, BOI, ESC, PAYE, EPF, ETF.

 

• Be responsible for the company’s financial plans and policies, its accounting practices, and the conduct of its relationships with the financial community.

 

• Deal with corporate matters with external parties such as bankers, external auditors, and Government Institutions (IRD, Vendors, etc.) - Shared services/Group Finance/Internal Auditors.

 

• Ensure all balance sheet accounts, control accounts, and intercompany balances are reconciled monthly, with reviews conducted quarterly for the Cluster.

 

• Actively participate in strategy formulation, implementation, assessment, and achievement of strategic objectives of the company.

 

• Constantly monitor processes and suggest improvements where necessary for efficiency, and highlight cost savings in all areas of operations and finance.

 

• Ensure that Business Units have prepared monthly cash flow forecasts and discuss them with management for planning to arrange funds for the company's day-to-day operations requirements, working capital, and financial commitments.

 

• Together with the Finance Director, establish major economic objectives and policies for the company and prepare reports outlining the company’s financial position.

 

• Prepare board papers/memos and obtain board approvals.

 

• Conduct meetings to review and direct debtors, receivables, and payment follow-ups.

 

• Furnish internal reports, revise and update reports to be more useful and efficient, and furnish external reports as necessary.

 

 

 

The Requirements  ?

 

  • The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance from a recognized university and a professional qualification in Finance (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) from a recognized institute with full membership.
  • Candidates should possess at least 10 years of experience in Finance, including 3-5 years of post-qualified experience in a managerial role, independently handling the financial spectrum of a business.
  • Candidates should have an inspiring personality, be exceptional team players with excellent communication skills, and have the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
