Deputy General Manager

Company - LAUGFS Terminals Limited

 

The Role

  • Responsible for ensuring that all activities carried out in the terminal, jetty areas, and bottling plant are undertaken in a safe and environmentally correct manner, striving for zero accidents and near misses. Manage operations in compliance with the LAUGFS Terminal Operating Policies and Procedures.
  • Carry out daily terminal and jetty operations in accordance with goals set by the General Manager to achieve maximum efficiency, ensuring that client products enter and leave the terminal storage with minimal loss and product integrity intact.
  • Carry out and document continuous training of all staff, and recognize other means of training that will benefit terminal operations staff.
  • Prepare and present daily and other operational reports to the General Manager when requested.
  • Ensure that all equipment is maintained in proper condition and that the terminal/jetty can respond to any emergency as required.
  • Responsible for the operation of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Manage the requisition, receipt, storage, issue, handling, quality control, and accounting of LPG/Propane to the LPG Terminal.
  • Manage all technological and operational functions effectively to fulfill the requirements of Monthly LPG import, Export, and Blending requirements.
  • Operate daily Terminal functions at optimum cost with effective resource utilization for the LPG terminal and bottling plant.
  • Maintain sufficient product inventories to meet daily demand and minimum Inventory Management Plan (IMP) requirements.
  • Establish product rotation procedures for all LPG products and establish an effective inspection and preventive maintenance program for the entire LPG terminal.
  • Establish an effective fire, Safety & Environment Management System and operate an effective Quality assurance and Quality Control system for terminal and bottling plant operations.
  • Plan and execute production schedules of the bottling plant.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards stipulated in the company safety policies & procedures and benchmark with industry standards and best practices.
  • Ensure HSE policies & Procedures established in the company related to the assigned business scope are followed.
  • Ensure critical spare parts and consumables are in stock, maintaining optimum stock to minimize plant downtime.
  • Prepare cargo unloading and loading plans.
  • Manage contractors, service providers, and vendors in line with company procurement policies.

 

Qualification

 

  • BSc. Engineering (Hons) Degree in Mechanical/Chemical & Process Engineering.
  • Five years of working experience.
  • Engineering knowledge in pressure vessels, piping, pumps, valves, DCS/ESD.
  • Knowledge and experience in marine operations of cargo loading and unloading.
  • Production Planning & Control.
  • Safety protocol/HSE.
